Peek inside former Dallas Cowboys star Jason Witten’s Westlake mansion for sale

Former Dallas Cowboys star Jason Witten is selling his 8,841-square-foot home in Westlake’s exclusive Vaquero neighborhood.

Witten, who played 16 seasons in Dallas before recently signing a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, has owned the home since 2013.

At $4.685 million, the six-bedroom, six-bathroom and two half-bathroom home at 2001 Navasota Cove boasts expansive living spaces in the neighborhood known for its sports celebrities and business executives.

Listing agent Roxann Taylor said Vaquero caters to buyers seeking privacy, as well as those wanting luxury amenities such as 24-hour concierge service.

“I think that anybody that looks to buy a property in Vaquero of Westlake is looking for privacy in the first place,” said Taylor, who works with real estate firm Engel and Völkers Dallas Fort Worth.

Witten’s Mediterranean-style home was built in 2008 and sits on 1.23 acres at the corner of the cul-de-sac. The grand double front doors open into an entryway with high ceilings, bright neutral walls, and a living and dining area. Opposite the front door, another set of double doors opens onto a patio with outdoor seating and views of a fire pit and pool.

The kitchen is to the right of the entryway, with all-white countertops and cabinets surrounding a large island. It flows into a breakfast area and a second living room with windows that overlook the backyard.

“The home itself, it’s on an acre and a quarter, and it just has so many different types of living areas,” Taylor said.

To the left of the entryway, there is a sitting area with cabinetry designated as wine storage and a hallway that leads to the master suite.

The master suite is on the first floor, separate from the other living areas in the home. The bedroom has access to the back patio through two sets of French doors that flank either side of a fireplace.

There’s an additional sitting area in the master suite, across from the walk-in closet. The focal point of the master bathroom is a large, freestanding bathtub set on a platform. There are his-and-her sinks on either side of the bathroom, with a shower at the middle separating the countertop spaces.

An additional bedroom with an en suite bathroom and walk-in closet on the first floor function as a guest suite. In the same wing of the house, a game room complete with a bar and a theater room provide additional entertaining space.

On the second floor, there are three bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a game room and an upstairs laundry room.

Taylor said she had the home’s first showing on May 5, and though she thinks the home is ideal for another family like the Wittens, she was surprised that the first person to show interest was a bachelor.

“You just don’t ever know,” Taylor said.

A large pool is the focal point of the backyard, and Taylor described it as having three different grottos, complete with a slide. The outdoor area also includes a grill off the main house, with space for additional seating and dining.

A separate guest house comes with a full kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom with a washer and dryer.
