Dak Prescott has been one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks for a few seasons. The Dallas Cowboys player is also one of the league’s top-paid athletes. However, Prescott and his family have gone through a lot, making his rise to the top even more impressive.
Dak is the youngest sibling in the family, having two oldest brothers, Tad and Jace, an older sister, Natalie, and an older half-brother, Elliot. However, he had to endure losing not only one of his siblings but also his mother in tragic ways.
Prescott’s mom, Peggy, died of colon cancer back in 2013 when the now Cowboys quarterback was only 20 years old, and his older brother Jace, was the one who mainly took care of his illness, fighting depression for a long time after taking the hit of losing his mother.
Ultimately, Jace Prescott tragically took his own life in 2020, and his brother Tad paid tribute to him on social media, marking the 4th anniversary of his untimely passing. Tad Prescott wrote.
It’s been 4yrs since @dak & I lost our brother Jace to suicide. Moose was always smiling, and truly a person you loved and wanted around. Make sure to check on your love ones, we never know the demons they’re fighting.
Tad Prescott
After the divorce of their parents, the three Prescott brothers stayed with their mom and were raised in a a three-bedroom trailer in Louisiana by her, and their love for football made them share a strong bond between them, making the loss of Jace even more hard for Dak and Tad.
