Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert was reportedly attacked at a South Dakota restaurant on Friday while eating dinner with his family, according to NJ.com. ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted a surveillance video of the attack (warning: it includes disturbing violence and offensive language).

On Monday, the Aberdeen Police Department announced that 29-year old Florida native Kyle Douglas Hadala has been arrested for punching Goedert. Hadala was charged with simple assault in connection with the incident.

He was charged with simple assault.”

According to ESPN’s Tim McManus, Hadala was in South Dakota on a work trip. Hadala was released on bond and isn’t allowed to have contact with Goedert. His first court appearance is scheduled for July 10.

Goedert didn’t suffer any serious injuries as a result of the crime. Brown County chief deputy state’s attorney Ernest Thompson also told McManus that the lack of serious injury to Goedert was a “deciding factor” in making the charge a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Goedert was able to return to his South Dakota home uninjured and classified as being “fine.” He was initially taken to the hospital following the attack as a precaution. Mike Kaye, who broke the story for NJ.com, reported that the Eagles have declined to specifically comment on the situation, but noted that they were aware of what had happened.
