Miami hooper Haley Cavinder attended the Dallas Cowboys versus Detroit Lions Week 6 game on Sunday to support her boyfriend, TE Jake Ferguson.
The Cowboys went on to get drubbed 47-9, with Ferguson struggling along with his teammates at AT&T Stadium. Ferguson was targeted four times, hauling in three catches for only 11 yards. He had his first disappointing game since Week 1 when he left due to an injury.
Cavinder shared an outfit update on TikTok where she revealed that the denim she wore was DIY-made with No. 87 on it, as per Ferguson’s jersey number. She added a blue and white varsity jacket and underneath put on a white cropped top. The outfit was then completed by adding a pair of gold-toned hoop earrings and pointed-toe heels.
Haley Cavinder transferred to TCU in November 2023 after taking a one-year break from women’s college basketball. She was going to play the 2024-2025 season with the Horned Frogs but her twin sister, Hanna Cavinder, announced that she will also come back to college sports and will play for the Miami Hurricanes.
While talking about her decision to flip her commitment and wanting to play another year of college basketball, Cavinder said (via the Miami Herald):
“I knew instantly when I decided at first not to take my fifth year that I missed it and regretted it, so I re-opened up my recruiting and I was practicing and working on own for the last year.
“I was at TCU doing workouts, but I’m happy to be back here. I missed being a Cane, and I’m excited to get back to work for this season,” she added.
Haley and Hanna also revealed that they discussed their decision to come back to the hardwood floor to great lengths.
“It comes down to do I want to play with my twin sister for my last season or go our different chapters and I just don’t think I could live with myself if I didn’t go back and play with her,” Haley said.
The sisters will try to help the Hurricanes qualify for next year’s NCAAW championship just like they did in 2023.
