Micah Parsons Dedicates Himself to Off-Season Training: Conquers Heavyweights with Intense Squat Sessions in the Gym

Micah Parsons’ first couple of seasons in the NFL have been pretty impressive. The Cowboys star was named Defensive Rookie of the Year and then finished runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year during his sophomore campaign. Not bad!

It’s not just talent that has helped propel Parsons into NFL stardom. The player also puts in the work in the gym and has published several videos on social media of him griding away to make sure he’s in tiptop condition when he takes to the field.

In fact, the official NFL Twitter page published a video of the Cowboys star smashing out several squats in the gym on Wednesday. The linebacker was pushing out 425 pounds and hardly broke a sweat!

He is more or less squatting the motorcycle in my garage at the moment,” commented one user on the post. “*Checks Strength Rating again*” joked the official page of the Madden NFL 23 game.

The video of Parsons putting in the hard yards comes shortly after former NFL star Andrew Whitworth publicly praised his work rate. The former NFL All-Pro offensive tackle spoke to Sports Illustrated about the former rookie of the year after spending a few days training with him. He was full of praise for Parsons, claiming that his off-season routine was “genius”.

“You get a feel, having played against a trillion guys over the years, the guys who can set you up, and who have a real feel. And just in those two plays we went against each other, I could see the ability,” were Whitworth’s exact words.

There’s no doubt that Parsons’ hard work now will pay dividends in the upcoming NFL season which begins on September 7.
