A remarkable young boy, born with a rare condition that resulted in a “two-faced” appearance, has defied all odds to celebrate his 13th birthday. Tres Johnson’s parents, Brandy and Joshua, were initially informed by doctors that their baby’s chances of survival were slim due to his craniofacial duplication.

Despite the grim prognosis, Tres Johnson has surpassed all expectations and reached the age of 13. The child, seen in the photo alongside his full-time caregiver and mother, Brandy, was born with a highly unusual condition affecting his facial features, skull shape, cognitive abilities, and causing seizures. Only 36 individuals worldwide share this disorder, attributed to the Sonic the Hedgehog (SHH) gene influencing skull development.

Tres has astonished medical professionals who, four years ago, believed there was little more they could do for him as he entered adolescence. His parents credit his improved condition to cannabis oil therapy, reducing his seizures from 400 to 40 per day, prompting various procedures to reconstruct his skull, and address other challenges.

Brandy, Tres’ full-time caregiver, shared that he was both lovely and surprising, with one side resembling their elder son and the other resembling their middle child. Tres underwent numerous surgeries to seal his cleft and reshape his head.

Despite ongoing health challenges, Tres has shown resilience and progress, with his mother crediting cannabis oil for the significant improvement in his seizure frequency.
